In a historic event, Nayarit was recognized as one of the three safest states in the country, according to the national crime incidence report of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection and the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System, published on February 17, 2025.

Likewise, it was reported that during the month of January, 587,736 room nights were used, which represented a growth of 3.9% compared to the month of January 2024; leaving an economic spill of more than 4 million 340 pesos for state tourism.
For three years and five months, the governor of Nayarit, Miguel Ángel Navarro Quintero, promoted a comprehensive security strategy based on effective coordination with the federal government and municipal governments.
This continuous effort has made it possible to strengthen peace and stability in the region, generating an enabling environment for investment, tourism and the well-being of citizens.
One of the fundamental pillars of this strategy was the acquisition of new patrol cars, the creation of the Police Training Academy and the coordination between the Nayarit Tourism Secretariat and public security agencies.
This was a key element in maintaining security standards, since this collaboration guarantees that both tourists and residents enjoy a safe and welcoming environment throughout the year.
Among the most important axes is the implementation of a specialized Tourist Police, which, since its implementation in 2022, serves to provide direct attention to tourists and citizens, ensuring a safe and pleasant experience in the state’s destinations.
Likewise, Governor Navarro Quintero emphasized that security is not an issue exclusive to a period or season, but a constant commitment to guarantee the well-being of society.
“Nayarit is not only a first-class tourist destination, but also a state where security translates into trust, investment and quality of life for all,” he said.
It should be noted that Nayarit stood out as one of the main tourist destinations in the country with spaces such as Riviera Nayarit, considered one of the safest and most beautiful regions in Mexico for its peaceful coasts, majestic mountains of the Sierra Madre, variety of landscapes ranging from beaches and mountains to tropical forests, which are home to a large number of endemic species.
