San Pancho, a unique paradise in Nayarit, perfect for reconnecting with nature

Do you want to vacation in a unique paradise? San Pancho, officially known as San Francisco, is a hidden gem in the Riviera Nayarit, an oasis that invites you to reconnect with nature and enjoy its golden sunsets, soft sand beach, long walks and fascinating culture.

San Pancho is located in the municipality of Bahía de Banderas, in the state of Nayarit. This place has a vibrant beach with crystal-clear waters perfect for sunset walks, horseback riding, outdoor yoga sessions or romantic dinners. However, if you like strong emotions, the waves of San Pancho are ideal to challenge with a surfboard.

Located just two blocks from the beach, another of its great attractions is in the town, a corner of bohemian charm, with cobblestone streets and an artistic atmosphere that invites you to leave the routine behind with local art galleries, cultural centers, Huichol crafts, artisan bakeries, cafes and restaurants; which will be an authentic sample of the creative wealth and charm of the region.

For a closer connection with nature, the option is to explore the lush jungle vegetation that surrounds the town with hiking trails in the company of a guide, or enjoy an afternoon playing golf or at the exclusive La Patrona Polo Club, a place where you can take private classes or even participate in tournaments. For wellness lovers, this destination is also a paradise for yoga classes and deep relaxation spas.

Vibrant cultural life

One of the greatest attractions of this place is its vibrant cultural life, which reaches its maximum splendor with the San Pancho Music Festival, a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the artistic atmosphere of the town, enjoy open-air concerts and connect with the local community through music and art.

This festival takes place annually, during the last weekend of February and has managed to establish itself as one of the most important musical events in the Riviera Nayarit with musicians of different genres.

Should extreme biohacking be a human right?

This festival began as a gathering in 2001, when John and Patricia Alexander organized a meeting between friends in their garden, inviting 12 musicians for an improvised jazz session. The gathering was so special that it became an annual event with two emblematic stages: the Dave Fisher Stage and the Puerco Garden Stage, both located in the Plaza del Sol in San Pancho.

For three days, it offers a diverse program that, although predominantly jazz, also includes genres such as rock, soul, blues and Latin music from international and national musicians —including local talents— who come together to share their art in a peaceful atmosphere, where the music mixes with the magic of the environment.

Over more than 20 editions, this celebration is full of interesting proposals, with concerts from the afternoon to the evening.
