Gastronomy, nature, heritage and culture are some of the attractions that make the Mexican state of Puebla one of the “ideal” destinations for international tourists who want to discover a “different” Mexico, far from the traditional sun and beach offering.
Located in the central area of the giant Mexico, Puebla aims to ensure that visitors who come to visit it have an experience in which they can not only see a cathedral or a church, but can also interact with its people, who are “very passionate” about what they do and enthusiastic when it comes to interacting with tourists.
“If they are going to try gastronomy, for example, they should go to a cooking class, make their own dishes so that they can have the true experience and get to know what the daily life of the people of Puebla is like,” said the Secretary of Tourism of Puebla, Yadira Lira, in an interview with Europa Press.
This door-to-door experience allows strengthening the entire value chain and encouraging small businesses, prioritizing community tourism over mass tourism, which allows preserving the rich culture of the State and not losing it.
Puebla stands out for its diversity, and for being a “very cultural” State with an “extraordinary” gastronomy, very rich in variety, colors and flavors. In addition, it offers adventure tourism, while you can enjoy up to 12 ‘Magical Towns’.
Similarly, according to Lira, Puebla is an “ideal” destination for religious and historical tourism, as it offers an immense variety of museums and more than 2,600 monuments through which the history of the State is told.
GREAT TOURIST POTENTIAL
The State of Puebla is very well connected to Mexico City, so its access is easy for Spanish tourists who normally fly to the Mexican capital. From there, they can quickly reach Puebla and enjoy all its corners, thanks to the good road infrastructure of the State.
Likewise, Lira has highlighted the hotel offer, with a wide variety of hotels, both luxury and traditional, from small and large chains, as well as the wide offer that is given in the most rural areas.
“What we are trying to do is make going to Puebla an experience. We are an accessible destination for Spaniards who want to enjoy various enclaves of Mexico. In Puebla we have everything very different,” says the person in charge of tourism.
