They seek to attract more Colombian tourists to Jalisco

To consolidate Jalisco as a leading destination at an international level, a delegation will participate in the activities that will take place at Vitrina Turística ANATO 2025, the most important fair in the sector in Colombia and South America.

This meeting, organized by the National Association of Travel Agencies of Colombia (ANATO), will be held from February 26 to 28 in the city of Bogotá and expects the attendance of 55 thousand people from the sector.

The most Mexican State will be represented by the Jalisco Tourism Secretariat, the Guadalajara Visitors and Conventions Office and the Tourism Trusts of the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area, Puerto Vallarta, the interior of the state and Costalegre.

The Jalisco Tourism Secretary, Michelle Fridman Hirsch, assures that the strategic focus of this tour aims to increase the flow of passengers, the economic impact and the average stay of Colombian tourists through circuits and routes through various locations in Jalisco.

In 2023, Jalisco received more than 735 thousand Colombian tourists by air, generating an economic spill of 827 million dollars, a figure that consolidates the Colombian market as the most relevant in Latin America for the state.

In response to this growing market, the Jalisco delegation has scheduled meetings during the fair with important Colombian wholesale agencies, with the aim of managing better conditions of competitiveness and sustainability for Jalisco as a tourist destination.

Jalisco’s presence at ANATO 2025 is not limited to tourists from Colombia; its participation seeks to reach the interest of other Latin American countries, among which Argentina, Brazil, Peru and Ecuador stand out.

Symbols of Mexicanness such as mariachi, charrería and tequila, in addition to distinguishing Jalisco, are also icons that attract tourists to the state and its capital, Guadalajara.

Likewise, its air, land and sea connectivity stands out, as well as its 12 Magical Towns and its two beach destinations, which are Puerto Vallarta and Costalegre.

In 2023, the arrival of tourists from Colombia to Mexico by air was 735,175 visitors, which represented an expenditure of 827 million 878 thousand dollars.

It is estimated that the closing figures for 2024 reported one million 59 thousand Colombian passengers who chose Mexico as a destination, with an expenditure of one billion 193 million dollars.

The main airlines with Colombia-Mexico-Colombia routes in the first seven months of 2024 were Avianca, with 55 percent; Aeroméxico, with 22.9 percent; VivaAerobus, with 13.8 percent; Volaris, with 6 percent, and Aero República with 2.3 percent.

Colombia remains the third country with the highest growth in tourists in Mexico after the United States and Canada.

During the first half of 2024, Jalisco had a 7.4 percent increase in Colombians visiting the state.
