The Tamaulipas Carnival 2025 will be the largest in the state and will take place in the southern part of the state. For this reason, Altamira, Ciudad Madero and Tampico will deploy an operation due to the closure of streets for the holding of events and tours.
The party will include parades of comparsas, concerts, the burning of bad humor and awards.
The Carnival starts in Altamira
In the industrial city, the details are already being finalized for this event, which will take place on Thursday, February 27 and Friday, February 28. The City Council is carrying out various works in the areas where there will be activity.
As part of the security protocol, street closures are planned:
Starting at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, Cuco Sánchez Boulevard will be closed for various events, such as the burning of bad humor, tours and artistic presentations. This road will remain closed until Saturday, March 1.
Hidalgo, Allende and Quintero streets will also suffer traffic interruptions, but only during the parades, from 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27 to 1:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28.
The head of Traffic of Altamira, Santiago Cerecedo, urged the population to take precautions and use alternate roads.
Parade route schedule
The carnival festivities in Altamira will begin on Thursday, February 27 at 6:00 p.m. at the Cuco Sánchez boulevard dock, with the traditional burning of the bad mood. Then the coronation of the Kings of the Carnival and the presentation of the Social Class group will take place.
On Friday, February 28th, starting at 6:00 p.m., the parade will take place, with the following route:

The event will close with the presentation of Alex Mont and La Merengossa.
Party at Miramar Beach
On Saturday, March 1st, the second day of tours will take place in Ciudad Madero, where the carnival festivities will return to Miramar Beach.
To do this, the municipal government will implement an operation to close the Costero Boulevard, from the Miramar Roundabout to the La Sirena Roundabout.
It is expected that the parades will advance along one of the lanes, while a side lane will be opened for emergencies, with an exit through Callejón de Barriles.
The concert will be held by La Casetera, whose stage will be located in the Plaza Gobernadores.
In Tampico, where this great party will close with a flourish on Sunday, March 2, the Traffic Department has issued recommendations.
The Perimetral Boulevard will be closed from 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, from Matamoros Street to Cristóbal Colón Street.
This road will remain without traffic until the end of the event, scheduled for the early hours of Monday, March 3.
The closing concert will be enlivened by La Firma, replacing Kumbia Kings.
