In order to strengthen the operational capacity of the Public Security Secretariat and provide greater protection to the elements of the State Guard, Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya delivered a batch of 25 armored patrol cars and highlighted the contribution of this corporation to improve the indicators of security and peace in Tamaulipas.

Accompanied by the Secretary of Public Security, Sergio Chávez García, and by the executive secretary of the State System of Public Security, Jorge Cuéllar Montoya, the state governor gave the starting signal to the new units that, starting today, will join the surveillance tasks, mainly in the border zone of the state.

“I am very grateful to you, because, as institutions of the Federal Government and the State Government, you have applied yourselves and we have achieved, in these two years and months that we have been in this administration, the opportunity to improve the security indicators for the Tamaulipas men and women and, in general, as we have said, we have remained within the first 10 places at the national level, where before we were far from that position,” he said in his message.

He added that, as shown by the parameters taken by the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System, Tamaulipas is the safest state on the northern border of the country, “and that, without a doubt, gives us a perspective of very important opportunities for growth and development,” he said.

For his part, Sergio Chávez García, Secretary of Public Security in Tamaulipas, stressed that the delivery of these armored patrols represents an effort by the State Government to guarantee that the elements that participate in security tasks on a daily basis have the best conditions to carry out their work.

“I want to take this opportunity to reaffirm our governor, Dr. Américo Villarreal, loyalty and perseverance, given the firm support that you have shown and that you have made evident to each one of the members of the Secretariat of Public Security with better equipment, with better living and operating conditions, and with better facilities,” he indicated.

“This delivery is part of a broader strategic effort to transform and strengthen the public security of the people of Tamaulipas. We will continue to advance in equipment, training and provision of technologies that allow us to consolidate a Secretariat of State with the human and material resources in accordance with the security and peace requirements that the citizens demand and deserve,” he mentioned.
