With the aim of giving visibility to the rage that daily moves women to continue fighting, with the hope of being able to transform everything that violates them, discriminates against them and takes their lives, the network “Yo Voy 8 de Marzo” called for the march for International Women’s Day next Saturday, March 8 in Guadalajara.

Through its social networks, “Yo Voy 8 de Marzo” reported that on that day at 2:00 p.m. various activities and workshops will be held at the Minerva roundabout, and it will be from 4:30 p.m. there, when the contingents will begin to group together, to advance at 5:00 p.m. towards Plaza Liberación.

This 2025 the motto of the march for 8M will be “From Rage, Struggle and Hope” with a route of 4.7 km in total, crossing avenues such as Ignacio Vallarta and Juárez.

“We reiterate that we are against any type of violence. We continue to fight for a dignified and inclusive life outside of hate speech and discrimination,” the network announced.

What is 8M and why continue fighting in Mexico?

Every March 8, the struggle of women for equality, recognition and effective exercise of their rights is commemorated around the world, which was made official in 1975 by the United Nations.

In Mexico, it is estimated that 10 women are victims of femicide per day. According to the National Census of Municipal Governments and Territorial Demarcations (CNGMD) in the report “In numbers. The measurement of femicide in Mexico. 2024” published by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), in 2022 alone, 966 victims of completed femicide were recorded in the investigation files and preliminary inquiries initiated in the state Public Prosecutors’ Offices.
