A few hours before the end of the Mazatlán Carnival 2025, hotel occupancy in Mazatlán fell to 40 percent, revealed José Ramón Manguart Sánchez.

The president of the Association of Hotels and Tourism Companies of Mazatlán, said that occupancy reached levels of 85 percent during the weekend of carnival celebrations.

“We reached an average of 85 percent, reservations, the important flow came in the last week,” he said.

He stressed that the Carnival brings together hundreds of people in the same place, at the same time in healthy coexistence and that is the signal that has to be sent that things can be done.

“The Carnival is above any other topic at the moment, which means that the maximum party for Mazatlecos has changed the conversation,” he said.

Manguart Sánchez added that the next date for the tourism rebound will be the second long weekend, the third weekend of March, where they have an expectation of 75 percent occupancy.

He pointed out that then comes Holy Week, Easter, Motorcycle Week, May bank holidays and summer.
