The Nayarit Business Council is concerned, although it has confidence in the actions that the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, will take regarding the 25 percent increase in tariffs that the United States applied on almost all products imported from Mexico and Canada, in addition to 10 percent on Canadian energy products.

María de la Cruz Robles, as spokesperson for this institution in the state, recognized that this increase in tariffs is worrying and that it will imminently affect Nayarit businessmen:

“This increase in tariffs will have a great impact because unfortunately it is already a fact, we have national uncertainty and we are aware that it is a fact that inflation will rise, it is seen that many companies have to sacrifice that 20 or 25 percent, and that means the closure of companies, it means a lower quality of life and that is why we are worried,” said the businesswoman.

They warn of an increase in inflation due to Donald Trump’s tariffs
Crucita Robles said that 25 percent of all products in Nayarit is too much, since it is not known to what degree inflation will reach, because immediately everything is rising by 20 percent.

“It is a fact that our production in the state will be seriously affected by this increase in tariffs,” she said.

The Business Council of Nayarit hopes to hear the message from President Claudia Sheinbaum this Sunday, March 9. The president of the Business Council in the state said that she appreciates the courage of Dr. Sheinbaum in outlining actions to confront the decisions of the President of the United States Donald Trump to seek solutions and arrangements.

She said that they are waiting for Sunday, March 9, since with the assembly that the president of Mexico will carry out, she will encourage the tranquility of the businessmen:

Nayarit companies could import from other places

“I see a president still hoping to have a call with Donald Trump to find out what arrangements they can have. I think that what is expected is to encourage a little tranquility regarding the economy, but in reality I feel that the United States is not going to take a step back, I hope that it is already Sunday to know what we are going to do and how we are going to proceed and that we are definitely going to have to work more for Mexico, we have a very prepared president and with first-class assistants and that is the hope that we have left to take the path that Dr. Sheinbaum shows us,” Crucita Robles pointed out.

The Business Council of Nayarit maintains through its president, that we must envision other scenarios, such as exporting Nayarit products to other places, without having to deal with the United States.
