Within the framework of the Second Meeting of Governors of the Western Zone of Mexico, held at the facilities of the 14th Military Zone, the governors of Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Zacatecas, Colima, and Nayarit, along with security authorities from the five states, analyzed the strengthening of joint strategies to guarantee security in the region.
The governor of Aguascalientes, Tere Jiménez, participated in the meeting alongside her counterparts: Pablo Lemus Navarro (Jalisco), David Monreal Ávila (Zacatecas), Miguel Ángel Navarro (Nayarit), and Indira Vizcaíno (Colima), in addition to the commander of the Fifth Military Region, Miguel Ángel Hernández Martínez, as well as representatives of the National Guard, the prosecutor’s offices, and the Public Security Secretariats of each state.
During the meeting, the actions and measures implemented in collaboration with the Mexican Army were discussed, with the aim of continuing to improve security in the region. Furthermore, the importance of coordination between the three levels of government was emphasized to achieve more effective results in preserving peace.
In her remarks, Tere Jiménez presented the progress made in security in Aguascalientes, highlighting the indicators that maintain the state’s status as one of the safest in the country. She also presented the results of the “Blindaje Aguascalientes” Security and Justice Plan, which guides public policies in this area.
One of the central topics of the meeting was the strengthening of security measures at the borders and highways connecting the participating states. In addition, the progress of the strategies agreed upon at the first meeting held in Zacatecas was reviewed, and new actions were defined to improve joint operations in the area.
