Adriana Vega Vázquez Mellado, Querétaro’s Secretary of Tourism, announced that approximately 330,000 tourists are expected to arrive during the upcoming Easter holiday period. This influx would generate an estimated 1.5 billion pesos in economic revenue for the state.
Vázquez Mellado explained that hotel occupancy during these dates is expected to reach 70%, although for the Holy Days, it is expected to exceed 80%. The main visitors come from Mexico City and the State of Mexico, consolidating Querétaro as a preferred destination for those seeking to experience traditions and cultural heritage. The official also emphasized that tourism in Querétaro is not limited to the Historic Center.
The state has a wide range of religious tourism options, including emblematic chapels and routes such as the Camino de Fray Junípero Serra in the Sierra Gorda, attracting pilgrims and travelers interested in spirituality and history. With these indicators, Querétaro is positioned as a key destination during Holy Week, combining traditions, nature, and a tourist infrastructure that promises an enriching experience for all its visitors.
