The Facts

The deprivation of liberty began when the victim’s family received financial demands for a ransom in exchange for the release of the kidnapped person.

Given this situation and the danger the victim was in, the family decided to file a complaint with the Guanajuato State Attorney General’s Office. This action allowed the Attorney General’s Office to immediately activate the investigative protocols and legal proceedings to find those responsible for the kidnapping.

Investigation and Arrest

Following the complaint, the Prosecutor’s Office deployed a series of intelligence actions and information analysis that led to the identification of the alleged perpetrators. This strategic operation culminated in the arrest of Libia Karina “N.” The alleged kidnapper was captured in an operation carried out in the city of Guanajuato, although the victim had not been located at the time of her arrest.

The agency reported through its press release that it remains active in its intensive search efforts, using advanced technology and specialized equipment to determine the whereabouts of the kidnapped person.

A continuous operation has been implemented, including location techniques and strategic patrols in different areas, with the aim of ensuring the victim’s location and release.

Once Libia Karina “N” was captured, the Public Prosecutor’s Office presented conclusive evidence to the corresponding judge, which led to her being charged with kidnapping. The former candidate was sent to preventive detention while the investigation continues and her responsibility in the case is determined.
