The “Tarjeta Madre” program is an initiative of the Durango State Government designed to support women in vulnerable situations.

This program offers three types of cards, each tailored to different needs, allowing the government to expand its reach to more women in this economic situation.

How many women will benefit from the Tarjeta Madre in Durango?

With the mobilization of 2,000 people who will visit homes throughout the state, Governor Esteban Villegas Villarreal launched the second phase of the “Tarjeta Madre” program, which will benefit 90,000 Durango women.

This program includes three types of support: cash assistance, food aid, discounts at local stores, health services, and even life insurance. Thus, the Governor reaffirms his commitment to fulfill one of his main campaign promises and transform the future of women in the state.

“We cannot forget what the women of Durango have given. Each one has her own story, with good times and difficult ones, but there is one thing that defines them: they are resilient, and for their children, they give their lives. They may go without food to give them a better future. That’s why we should never leave them alone, and this program aims to strengthen those 90,000 women so that this year they can count on the benefits of the card.”

How many women benefited from the Tarjeta Madre in its initial phase?

The governor recalled that the program began last year with 7,000 women due to the limitations the administration faced.

Despite this, he emphasized that the commitment was met and that, by 2025, the “Tarjeta Madre” will expand with more benefits and consolidate itself as a program that is here to stay. “There will be three types of cards, depending on each woman’s situation, with multiple benefits in addition to direct support,” he emphasized.

What other services will be offered with the Tarjeta Madre?
Hugo Morales Manzanera, Regional Director of Institutional Banking for the Northern Zone, explained that, in collaboration with the state government, the “Mother Card” now includes more services, such as life insurance for the cardholder or one of her children, funeral assistance, and legal support in the event of death.

Additionally, health services will be offered, such as a free annual mammogram, psychological and legal assistance, postpartum care, vision and dental checkups, and support for domestic emergencies, such as locksmith services or broken glass repair. Ambulance coverage is also included, with a limit of 3,000 pesos.

Start of the Second Phase of the Mother Card
David Payán Guerrero, State Secretary of Social Welfare (SEBISED), highlighted the importance of this new phase of the program. He stated that the 2,000 home visitors are ready to go door-to-door and ensure that the benefits reach the 90,000 women included in the program.

Governor Villegas and the president of the State DIF, Marisol Rosso, donned the vests that the 2,000 members of this team will wear, ready to bring the program to those most in need.

The official launch of the program was attended by members of the State Cabinet, business leaders, and Durango women who have already benefited from the “Mother Card,” who expressed their gratitude and confidence in the future of their families thanks to this initiative.
