More than 40 closed-circuit cameras installed on the streets of Santa Cruz Huatulco, Oaxaca state, and allegedly used by local criminals, were made available to the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) to continue the investigation.

The closed-circuit cameras were installed in public spaces and, according to initial investigations, were used by local criminal cells.

In addition to the security cameras, dozens of drug doses and a motorcycle were seized.

The Oaxaca State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), in close coordination with the Ministry of National Defense (Defense) and the National Guard (GN), removed and secured the more than 40 cameras installed on different streets of Santa Cruz Huatulco, which were allegedly used for surveillance by criminal cells operating in that area of ​​the Oaxaca coast.

These actions are part of the state’s Public Security strategy and combat, derived from the “Campaign to Combat Drug Dealing and Prohibited Substances,” which implements different types of operations in this area of ​​the state of Oaxaca.

Due to the nature of the seized objects, they were made available to the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) to follow up on the investigations surrounding the case.

Video surveillance cameras belonging to criminal groups have been identified in other states across the country.
In recent days, this type of video surveillance has been identified by criminal groups in other states across the country, such as the State of Mexico (Edomex) and Sinaloa, in addition to Oaxaca.
