Man accused of attempted murder in Mazatlán arrested in Texas

The Sinaloa State Attorney General’s Office, through the Specialized Arrest Unit (UNESA), executed an arrest warrant against Edgar Alonso “N,” 43, for his alleged involvement in the crime of attempted aggravated homicide with advantage.

The warrant was executed in Texas, United States, thanks to international collaboration with INTERPOL. The incident occurred in 2016, during a meeting at a home, where the now-detained man allegedly attacked the victim with a broken glass bottle, attempting to injure her in the neck. The victim protected herself with her arms, but suffered multiple facial injuries that required medical attention. Fortunately, she made a satisfactory recovery.

After his arrest, Edgar Alonso “N” was brought before the First Instance Court of Control and Criminal Prosecution of Mazatlán, where he will face the corresponding legal proceedings to determine his legal status.
