Nestled at the peak of the Sierra Norte in Ixtlán de Juárez, Oaxaca, the Mirador de Cristal Cuachirindoo—also known as the Mirador de Ixtlán—offers awe-inspiring panoramic views of the region’s lush forests and rugged mountains. Suspended more than 200 meters above sea level, it stands as one of the highest glass viewpoints in Latin America, attracting nature lovers and thrill-seekers alike.

This iconic attraction provides an unforgettable experience, especially during sunrise or sunset, as visitors witness the mesmerizing sea of clouds cloaking the valley, with mountaintops peeking through the mist. Walking across its U-shaped glass floor offers an exhilarating sensation of floating in the sky. The viewpoint also features a unique cafe with a glass floor, ensuring visitors can enjoy both breathtaking views and refreshments.

Ideal for hiking, birdwatching, and capturing stunning landscape photography, the Mirador de Cristal Cuachirindoo is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. How to Get There

From Oaxaca City, travelers can take Federal Highway 175 toward Tuxtepec, passing through scenic stops such as San Andrés Huayápam and Guelatao de Juárez. Approximately 65 kilometers later, signs will lead you to the Ixtlán Ecotourism Center. From there, a 5-kilometer dirt road takes you to the Mirador Cuachirindoo.

The park welcomes visitors daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with an entrance fee of 100 pesos per person. It promises a remarkable journey into Oaxaca’s natural splendor.
