In separate operations, federal security forces in Sinaloa disabled two drug camps, jamming antennas, and seized weapons and drugs. At the same time, in Tamaulipas, they destroyed 45 homemade armored vehicles known as “monsters,” allegedly used by organized crime.
This Sunday, the Mexican Navy (Semar) reported that during aerial patrols in recent days, they located two jamming antennas in the town of Cosalá, which they proceeded to disable. Through ground patrols in the same town, they seized four vehicles, three long-range weapons, one handgun, seven magazines for various weapons, 293 cartridges of different calibers, and 22 doses of suspected drugs.
In a second operation in the state, in the town of El Capomo, municipality of Escuinapa, two camps allegedly used by organized crime groups were located. 117 rounds were seized in the first camp and 682 rounds in the second camp, for a total of 799 live rounds.
FGR Destroys Monsters
On the other hand, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) also reported this Sunday that 45 so-called “monster” vehicles with homemade armor were destroyed in Tamaulipas, in compliance with the Program for the Destination of Property and Objects of Crime.
The operation was carried out through its Specialized Regional Control Prosecutor’s Office (FECOR) at the facilities of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office of Tamaulipas, located in Reynosa.
According to the agency, the destroyed vehicles are linked to 19 cases, which were seized in various confrontations in that state and were allegedly used by individuals belonging to criminal groups.
