The governor of Guanajuato, Libia Denise García Muñoz Ledo, reported that after a security meeting between governors of the western Bajío region, operations will be strengthened with neighboring states, primarily Jalisco and Michoacán.

Through social media, the state governor reported that a visit to the state of Jalisco was made this Thursday to strengthen security between the states of Guanajuato, Jalisco, Colima, and Michoacán.

“Today, all members of the operational intelligence group were there, sharing information and establishing coordinated interstate objectives that will allow us to continue working to reduce crime,” she said.

The state governor stated that these types of inter-institutional meetings serve to prevent and combat criminal acts that undermine the security of the population. Specific but adaptable strategies must be developed to achieve favorable results in the fight against crime.

He added that the next regional meeting between the leaders of these states and the Mexican government will be held in June, and Guanajuato will host it.
