The president of the National Chamber of the Transformation Industry in Mazatlán, Sergio Rojas Velarde, stated that if each company joins forces to work on restoring a watershed, they could help protect the water resources of the southern part of the state.

He explained that the chamber has held meetings with Conselva, the Coastal Authority, and Communities, and is organizing a meeting with the Municipality to discuss a project in the Estero del Infiernillo.

In addition, companies are being invited to contribute to the care and preservation of watersheds, each adopting a small watershed and assuming responsibility for its care.

“Yes, companies, like PINSA is currently doing, are being invited to care for, to support, and protect a watershed. This is being divided into watersheds, into hectares of watersheds, so that companies can contribute resources to take charge of the care of that watershed through Conselva and, in this case, regenerate the watershed,” he said.

The initiative arises from the worrying drought affecting the state, which has been taking its toll for three consecutive years. Furthermore, PINSA has been one of the pioneering companies in implementing this type of project to preserve the watershed.

Canacintra has worked closely with Conselva (National Water Commission) to raise awareness among companies about the importance of supporting the protection of water resources.
