As part of his international tour, Durango Governor Esteban Villegas Villarreal participated this Monday in the inauguration of the Mexico Pavilion at the Hannover Messe, the world’s most important industrial fair held in Germany. There, he presented the state as a state with enormous competitive advantages for investment, innovation, and sustainable growth.
Hannover Messe brings together more than 4,000 companies from sectors such as mechanical engineering, energy, automation, and digital industries, acting as a global ecosystem to promote sustainable, high-performance technological solutions.
Safety and expansion opportunities stand out in Durango
During his speech, he thanked the Mexican government and the German Embassy for the invitation and emphasized that Durango is a “hidden gem in the north of the country,” with sustained growth and unbeatable conditions for industrial development.

“The state has just announced a $3.7 billion investment. It will house the largest data center in Latin America and multiple expanding companies. It has what industries are looking for: water, energy, security, talent, and quality of life,” the governor told businesspeople and authorities.
He also affirmed that Durango is one of the safest states in the country, with a strategic location and an ideal environment for launching new projects. He added that this tour includes meetings with international companies interested in learning about what Durango and Mexico have to offer.
“Mexico is at a great moment. If we know how to work together, if everyone does their part, we can achieve much more. I fully agree that what is done in Mexico is well done,” Villegas emphasized, adding to the message of unity and global outreach promoted by other leaders present.
It is worth noting that the State Governor is accompanied by key officials from his cabinet, whose participation is essential to consolidate agreements in strategic sectors. He is accompanied by Elisa Haro Ruiz, Secretary of Tourism; Fernando Rosas Palafox, Secretary of Economic Development; Arturo Ortiz Galán, head of the Foreign Investment Attraction Unit; Víctor Hugo Hernández Fuentes, Director of Social Communications; Jaciel Chacón Bueno, Director of Strategic Projects and Programs; and Raúl Sosa, Head of the Assistantship.
Durango’s presence at Hannover Messe, they assert, seeks to open new investment avenues in sectors such as energy, technology, advanced manufacturing, and automation.
