Throughout Thursday, stationary front number 37, interacting with an upper-level trough, will bring rain to the north and northwest of the country.
In addition, the entry of humid air from the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea will favor scattered rainfall in the southeast of the country and the Yucatan Peninsula.
On the other hand, the low probability of rain will continue in the rest of the country due to the absence of significant meteorological phenomena.
Therefore, heavy rain (25 to 50 mm) is forecast in Chiapas, moderate rain (5 to 25 mm) in Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, and Coahuila (with possible snow or sleet in the mountains), and light rain (less than 5 mm) in Oaxaca, Tabasco, and Quintana Roo.
Strong winds will continue to batter various parts of Mexico.
A marked regional pressure differential will favor gusts (with possible dust storms) of 80 to 100 km/h (50 to 62 mph) in Chihuahua and Durango, 60 to 80 km/h (37 to 50 mph) in Sonora, Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Zacatecas, 40 to 60 km/h (25 to 37 mph) in Baja California, Baja California Sur, Jalisco, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, and San Luis Potosí, and 30 to 50 km/h (19 to 31 mph) in Sinaloa, Nayarit, Michoacán, Guerrero, Querétaro, Hidalgo, Puebla, Tlaxcala, the State of Mexico, Mexico City, and Morelos.
Additionally, a pressure gradient over the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico will cause winds of 60 to 80 km/h in Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Campeche, Yucatán, and Quintana Roo, and 40 to 60 km/h in Tabasco.
Winds in the north of the country could reach up to 100 km/h.
The intense heat will continue in several regions of Mexico.
For Thursday afternoon, high temperatures of 40 to 45°C are expected in Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, Hidalgo, Puebla, Veracruz, Morelos, Guerrero, and Oaxaca, 35 to 40°C in Coahuila, Nuevo León, Zacatecas, Durango, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, Guanajuato, Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán, and Quintana Roo, and 30 to 35°C in Aguascalientes and the State of Mexico (southwest).
Then, towards dawn on Friday, minimum temperatures of -10 to -5 °C with frost are expected in mountainous areas of Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua and Durango, -5 to 0 °C with frost in mountainous areas of Zacatecas and the State of Mexico, and 0 to 5 °C in Baja California Sur, Sinaloa (mountains), Nayarit (mountains), Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Michoacán, Tlaxcala and Puebla.
