The Tampico City Council, through the Sports Secretariat, invites all athletes from across the Mexican Republic to participate in the Tampico Repopulation Race, commemorating the 202nd Anniversary of the repopulation of our jaibo port, known for its people, its culture, and the history that defines its identity.
This competition brings together athletes of various ages and experience levels, who will meet to run the kilometers separating Altamira from Tampico in an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and Tampico pride.
This event not only seeks to promote physical activity and healthy coexistence, but also to pay tribute to the history and traditions that shape Tampico’s identity.
With the intention of encouraging participation from athletes from all corners of the country, registration is completely free.
Where can I register to participate in the race?
Registration to participate in this sporting event is completely free and will be open from April 2 to 10.
Those interested can register at the Tampico Sports Complex offices. Located at 1404 A. López Mateos Boulevard, Guadalupe Mainero neighborhood, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
You only need to bring a copy of your official ID to enter the event, as registration is completely free. Upon providing it, you will be given a participation number.
When and where will the race be?
The race will take place on Sunday, April 13, 2025. Below are the start and finish times.
For those running the 24K, the start will be at 6:30 a.m. sharp from the Portico of the Altamira Municipal Palace.
For participants running the 13K, the start is scheduled for 6:30 a.m. from Divisoria Street between Tampico and Altamira.
It is important to note that the finish line for all participants will be at the Tampico Municipal Palace building.

What will the race route be for participants?
For 24K participants, the race will begin at the Altamira Municipal Palace Portico, continue along Tampico-Mante Highway, along Hidalgo Avenue, and continue along Altamira Street until reaching Colón Street, where they will turn right and finish in front of the Tampico Municipal Palace Portico.
For 13K runners, the race will start on Divisoria Street between Tampico and Altamira, located in the Niños Héroes neighborhood of Tampico.
The route will continue along the Tampico-Mante Highway, along Hidalgo Avenue, and then along Altamira Street until reaching Colón Street, where you will turn right and finish in front of the Tampico Municipal Palace Portico.
