In a bid to boost tourism and safety during the upcoming Holy Week celebrations, Mayor Estrella Palacios Domínguez announced that beach hours in Mazatlán will be extended to 8:00 p.m.

Starting from now, visitors can enjoy the city’s beautiful beaches until 8:00 p.m., while swimming is permitted until 7:00 p.m. After that time, swimmers must leave the water but may remain on the sand until closing hours.

“We invite everyone to respect these hours for their safety,” Palacios Domínguez emphasized. “Members of the Municipal Police, State Police, Civil Protection, National Guard, Marines, and the entire Army will be deployed to ensure a peaceful vacation for all visitors.”

The mayor also announced that during Holy Week, a designated area on the boardwalk will be set aside for bands to play, stretching from the Varali Hotel to the photo stop next to the Valentinos Hotel. This move aims to prevent street performers from obstructing traffic or putting themselves at risk.

“Sinaloan music is an integral part of our identity as Mazatlecos,” Palacios Domínguez said. “We want people to enjoy it, and we’ll have designated venues for them to do so.”

The city expects around half a million tourists during the Holy Week period, which is expected to generate an economic impact of 1.6 billion pesos.

To ensure visitor safety, four tourist assistance points will be set up along the port’s beaches, staffed by officials from the Mayor’s Office and other authorities.
