The preventive and safety operation implemented by members of the Aquatic Rescue Squadron, the Navy, and the National Guard was highly active throughout Friday, April 11.

Gustavo Espinoza Bastidas, commander of the Municipal Police Lifeguard Group, reported that the personnel participated in seven different interventions, six of which were to rescue a total of 11 people. They were caught in ocean currents for ignoring recommendations, putting their lives at risk.

Espinoza Bastidas commented that fortunately, the people rescued, including three minors, only suffered from fatigue and nervous breakdowns, and in none of the cases was it necessary to request paramedic assistance for transportation. However, operational personnel were called in to arrest a swimmer who entered the sea in a red-flagged area despite the call he had received.

As announced by Mazatlán President Estrella Palacios Domínguez at the launch of the 2025 Holy Week and Motorcycle Week Security Plan, personnel are prepared to respond in emergencies, but it is also necessary for residents to exercise self-care and follow instructions to minimize risky situations.
