The Commercial Establishments Law for Mexico City establishes that when the sale or sale of alcoholic beverages is detected, the authorities will proceed to take an inventory and immediately seize the products in question.
“The seizure of beverages will be carried out by transferring them to the storage site designated by the authority, after conducting an inventory of the seizure, a copy of which will be immediately delivered to the owner of the establishment or event in question,” reads Article 63.
In case of violating the Law, a fine may also be imposed ranging from 351 to 1,500 times the Updated Unit of Measure, which is 113.14 pesos.
