As part of the Holy Week celebrations, the traditional Silent Procession took place this Friday through the streets of the capital’s Historic Center. This procession is one of the most representative expressions in the state and is part of the activities of the 2025 Zacatecas Cultural Wellbeing Festival.
In front of thousands of Zacatecans and local, national, and international visitors, the procession took place. This is one of the most important events of Holy Week, which in Zacatecas runs through the main streets of the city, a World Cultural Heritage Site.
Dressed in black robes and holding candles and torches, members of the brotherhoods performed the silent march with images of the Virgin of Sorrows and the Crucified Christ, accompanied by the solemn sound of drums and chants.
With the report of a clean balance on this Good Friday, the Silent Procession in Zacatecas has established itself as one of the most important in the country, both for its spiritual character and for its cultural, touristic, and social value, as, in this Year of Well-being 2025, it brought together thousands of families around this event.
