With the mission of becoming a hospitality hub, Expo Guadalajara announced this morning the first edition of the Mexico Hospitality Expo, an event that will bring together leaders and representatives of the restaurant, hotel, hospital, bar, and cafe sectors. It will take place from May 6 to 8 in the city.
This will be the second exhibition operated and produced by Expo Guadalajara, and will be organized in collaboration with Fira Barcelona, one of the most important trade fair organizations in Europe. The event is expected to attract around 5,000 visitors from Mexico, Latin America, and the Caribbean, and generate an economic impact of 186,208,708 pesos.
In addition to private companies such as Mercado Pago and Ikea, the event will also feature participation from UNICEF, the Guadalajara Chamber of Commerce, the Jalisco Association of Private Hospitals, the National Association of Hotels and Motels, the American Chamber of Commerce, among others.
“It’s been a world-class event since its inception. Mexico Hospitality Expo, powered by Hostelco, has the international support of a global leader in event planning, with the legacy of a four-decade-long trade show synonymous with excellence in the European hospitality industry,” said Luis Salazar Ramírez, president of the Expo Guadalajara Technical Committee.
Mexico Hospitality Expo will be divided into seven thematic areas to cater to all sectors and industries. These areas include Fully Equipped, focusing on equipment, machinery, and accessories for hotels and kitchens; Coffee, Bakery, and Pastry, specializing in cafes, bars, bakeries, pastries, and ice cream shops; and Food and Provisions, dedicated to the supply of food, beverage, and other ingredients.
“The congress brings together the world’s most influential players in a high-impact forum, designed to inspire, connect, and transform the future of the industry. This is the first time it has been held outside of Europe, which consolidates the congress’s position as an event of global reach. At the same time, it recognizes Mexico’s growing role in global tourism,” said Bernardo Aguilar Martínez, coordinator of the Mexico Hospitality Expo organizing committee.
For his part, Efrén Díaz Castillero, general director of Regulatory Improvement for the State Government, noted that Mexico Hospitality Expo represents the best that Jalisco and Mexico have to offer in the hospitality sector, as well as the capacity to receive and serve visitors. This space, he explained, will be an opportunity to expand business and network with other representatives of the hospitality industry.
“Hospitality is gaining relevance as a strategic pillar of our economy, as it generates millions of jobs, drives investment in infrastructure, promotes innovation in service, and, most importantly, puts people at the center,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Director of Tourism Promotion for the Government of Jalisco, María Rocío Lancaster Jones Granada, reiterated the Ministry of Tourism’s commitment to collaborating with Expo Guadalajara to host the Mexico Hospitality Expo. She also noted that there are more than 19,000 restaurants in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area (AMG) that could benefit from this event.
