Mexican authorities discovered and dismantled a criminal surveillance point, the Tucson branch of the Border Patrol Department reported on social media.
The discovery took place on Federal Highway 8, approximately 24 kilometers north of Puerto Peñasco, on a highway primarily used by tourists. During the operation, a firearm, solar panels, and radio communication equipment were seized, which were located on a hill.
The operation is part of the binational efforts between Mexico and the United States to disrupt cartel operations in the region. These measures seek to strengthen security in areas frequented by tourists and residents.
Authorities continue operations to locate and eliminate similar structures used by criminal groups.
