In Sonora, work is underway to update all video surveillance cameras, which exceed 2,000 across the state’s municipalities, stated the head of the C5i, Benjamín González Caballero.
The state coordinator of the Control, Command, Communication, Computing, Coordination, and Intelligence Center explained that they are also working together with municipal authorities interested in installing cameras in their towns.
“We are working on installing the cameras, and we are also working together with other municipalities interested in installing cameras based on the standards that establish video surveillance techniques,” he reported.
Captain González Caballero emphasized that the modernization of the more than 2,000 cameras installed in the state is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
“This is to achieve much greater coverage than the state has, and ultimately, something that is being done with these municipalities is based on the analysis they determine about where the cameras should be placed,” he stated.
