In 2015, the production team of Simplemente María traveled to Aljojuca, in the municipality of Atzacan, where the surrounding mountains, vegetation and natural landscapes provided the setting required for filming scenes of the Mexican television drama.
The location became particularly recognizable because part of the production’s setting was established at the foot of one of the area’s hills. The production staff built what served as the characters’ home in the melodrama, taking advantage of the natural surroundings of Aljojuca.
