In an effort to expand the reach of Sonoran products, the Ministry of Economy and Tourism (SETUR) of the Government of Sonora has announced a strategic alliance with OXXO to promote the “Made in Sonora” label. This collaboration, which began in the northern part of the state, now extends to the southern region, with the official launch of the “Made in Sonora” stand at the OXXO Southern Region facilities in Ciudad Obregón.
This expansion represents a significant step in boosting local consumption and opening up new opportunities for Sonoran businesses. The agreement, signed in June 2023, offers participating companies a comprehensive package of benefits, including access to training, connections with retail chains and digital platforms, participation in fairs and events, and access to financing.
The Secretary of Economy and Tourism, Roberto Gradillas Pineda, highlighted the importance of this program, not only as a marketing strategy, but also as a vehicle to strengthen regional identity and pride. “The ‘Made in Sonora’ label represents the quality, effort, and talent of our people,” said Gradillas Pineda. “This initiative reflects Governor Alfonso Durazo’s commitment to inclusive economic development throughout the state.”
With this expansion to Ciudad Obregón, the “Made in Sonora” program strengthens its market presence, bringing Sonoran products to a wider audience and contributing to the economic growth of the southern region. This initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy, creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs and consolidating Sonora’s productive sector.
Beyond its presence in OXXO, the Government of Sonora remains committed to developing comprehensive strategies that drive sustainable economic growth in all regions of the state, ensuring the prosperity and well-being of its residents by promoting the consumption and sale of local products.
