In San Juan del Río, Querétaro, federal security forces arrested Armando Rueda Rivera, alias “Ajenjo,” the alleged boss of the “Nuevo Imperio Cartel” in the Azcapotzalco district of Mexico City, under the command of an individual known as “General Milton.”
According to federal sources, Rueda Rivera operated in several municipalities in the State of Mexico and in various municipalities in the capital. He is linked to crimes such as kidnapping, cargo robbery, homicide, bodily harm, and drug dealing.
The arrest of “El Ajenjo” was the result of coordinated efforts and information sharing between the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), the Secretariat of Defense (Defense), the Secretariat of the Navy (Navy), the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), and the National Guard (GN), along with the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) and the Attorney General’s Office (FGJ), both in Mexico City, and the Attorney General’s Office (FGJ) of the State of Mexico.
The Security Cabinet reported that the detainee had an active arrest warrant for extortion and was considered the boss of a criminal organization involved in various high-impact crimes in the Valley of Mexico.
“After conducting desk investigations and using technological tools, it was determined that the individual was in the state of Querétaro. Therefore, the work teams went to that location and to a shopping center in the municipality of San Juan del Río, in the Centro neighborhood. They located him, confirmed his identity, and executed the arrest warrant,” they stated.
