During the carnival celebrations in Tuzamapan, a town in the municipality of Coatepec, participants set fire to a statue of US President Donald Trump.
At the ceremony of burning the evil mood, held on Thursday night, the life-size effigy was engulfed in flames, while people chanted slogans against it.
Hundreds of people dressed as various characters and carrying torches and other accessories paraded through the town’s streets.
Among the participants, a group of at least 20 people dressed as members of an organized crime group could be seen.
The young people wore vests with the initials CJNG, as well as black caps and covered their faces, and carried toy guns, sticks, and boards.
The carnival has a tradition dating back decades, and people usually go out masked as part of the celebration.
