Willem Uijen, Unilever Global’s executive director of supply chain and operations, confirmed the 8 billion peso (MXN) investment for a plant in the municipality of Salinas Victoria, Nuevo León (NL) before President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo during the People’s Morning Press Conference.

He indicated that this amount is part of the total 30 billion MXN investment the company will make in the country between 2025 and 2028 to increase production capacity in factories, in new manufacturing lines, logistics projects, and to promote the digitalization of operations and strengthen brands.

The executive specified that these 8 billion MXN will be allocated specifically for the launch of the plant in Nuevo León, in addition to the 8 billion MXN already invested for its construction.

“This is one of the most cutting-edge factories we have in Latin America, and it will be located in the municipality of Salinas Victoria. It will produce beauty and personal care products for our leading brands, such as Dove, Rexona, and Sedal, with the capacity to supply the domestic and Latin American markets,” he indicated.

The plant will incorporate cutting-edge technologies, energy efficiency, and sustainability innovation, he emphasized.
