Despite the wave of violence in Sinaloa, Mazatlán is among the main cities for vertical development.
The Association of Tourist Real Estate Developers in Mazatlán revealed that in 2021, there were 8,162 units under construction, and in 2024, there were 13,291 units.
The president of the Association of Tourist Real Estate Developers in Mazatlán, Carlos Rivera Vega, stated that he assumes this new responsibility with great challenges and, so far, he is unaware of any developments that have been halted.
“Facing challenges like all activities, since there is nothing that is not visible to everyone, we are going through a challenge in Mazatlán, and this is not the first time we have had to overcome a situation and move forward,” he said.
For his part, Sinaloa’s Secretary of Economy, Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas, highlighted that there are more than 50,000 formal jobs derived from construction, and this sector contributes more than 55 billion pesos to the state’s economy, representing 8.4 percent.
He noted that in the last three years, private investment has exceeded 98 billion pesos, the highest for the first three years of a government, and Mazatlán accounts for 44 percent of this investment.
He indicated that Mazatlán is among the top private investment sectors with 46 billion pesos, of which 30 billion are in vertical developments.
