The Oaxaca Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) announced that the state capital and Carrizalillo Beach in Puerto Escondido were recognized in the 2025 Best of the Best Travelers’ Choice Awards, hosted by the Tripadvisor platform.
These awards recognize excellence in travel and are given to destinations, hotels, restaurants, and activities favored by travelers around the world, which receive a large number of exceptional reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period.
The city of Oaxaca is among the Top 10 destinations in the country, with the Macedonio Alcalá Theater highlighted as one of the best sites. It is also described as “tranquil and vibrant, offering the best of southern Mexico’s charm, combining lively festivals and entertainment with fantastic cuisine and unique cultural attractions.”
Meanwhile, Carrizalillo Beach in Puerto Escondido is on the list of the 10 best beaches in Mexico, which “captivates with its crystal-clear waters and natural beauty. Families will find a quiet place to enjoy a relaxing swim, while foodies can savor delicious local dishes.”
In addition, several establishments were recognized, in different categories, on the lists of the best hotels in Mexico. In Luxury and Small and Boutique Hotels, there is Casa Pan de Miel in Mazunte.
In the All-Inclusive category are the Binniguenda Huatulco and Dreams Huatulco Resort & Spa, in Tangolunda, Huatulco. In the B&B and Inns category, Hotel Manta Raya, on Salchi Beach in San Pedro Pochutla, was included.
These recognitions position Oaxaca as one of the favorite vacation destinations, according to travelers’ opinions. An achievement that boosts tourism and strengthens the state’s economic impact.
