Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) authorities in Florida confirmed the arrest of Jesús Adhair S.V., alias “El Azteca,” alleged operator of the Los Salazar group in the states of Sonora and Chihuahua.
According to ICE’s Online Detainee Location System (ODLS), Jesús Adhair remains detained at the Krome North SPC Detention Center, awaiting immigration or judicial proceedings, according to the official website of U.S. authorities.
So far, the specific charges against him and the exact date of his arrest have not been revealed. The detainee is the son of Jesús Alfredo Salazar Ramírez, alias “El Muñeco” or “El Justiciero,” one of the main operatives of the Sinaloa Cartel, who was extradited in 2023 to serve his sentence in the United States after his capture in November 2012.
Furthermore, Jesús Adhair is the grandson of Adán Salazar, one of the alleged founders of the Sinaloa Cartel in the states of Chihuahua, Sonora, and Durango, considered Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán’s right-hand man, who was captured in 2011 and extradited to Texas in 2023 to continue his sentence.
These devices, which were located on electricity, telephone, and streetlight poles along various roads in the municipality, were identified and dismantled.
As for Jesús Adhair, he is identified as one of the current leaders of the Independent Cartel of Sonora (CIS), a splinter group of Los Salazars, which originally operated as the armed and logistical wing of the Sinaloa Cartel.
According to authorities in Chihuahua and Sonora, the Los Salazar group severed ties with the “Los Chapitos” faction, the sons of El Chapo Guzmán, which led to new armed conflicts over territorial control in Sonora and Chihuahua.
