Every May 10th, Mother’s Day is celebrated in Mexico, an event that honors and recognizes the fundamental role of mothers in society.
According to Global UNAM magazine, the veneration of motherhood has deep roots in Mexico. In Mesoamerican cultures, motherhood and fertility were worshipped. With the arrival of Europeans, this tradition became associated with the figure of the Virgin of Guadalupe, a legacy that transformed into a celebration that has endured.
