The mayor of El Marqués, Rodrigo Monsalvo Castelan, stated that the federal government has not yet decided on the location of the Mexico-Querétaro Train station in the municipality. Possibilities are being considered, one of which is to have a stop in Los Héroes and an occasional stop at the Querétaro International Airport (AIQ).
“That is under discussion; the points are not yet well defined. Apparently, some groups within the federal government are talking about it being at the airport, and others at Los Héroes. One of these groups is even talking about a stop at the airport, just a stop that isn’t always there, only at two or three schedules, and that the station be in Héroes.”
He noted that the arguments presented by federal officials are oriented toward the fact that a large community like Los Héroes would benefit from mobility, being able to use the train to travel without using a vehicle to the capital of the state of Querétaro. While, for the moment, properties are being analyzed in that community and in Jesús María.
He indicated that the project will be very positive for the residents of Marques, as it will continue the progress they have made in recent years, which places it as the fastest-growing municipality in the state.
“It helps us a lot, I insist, especially a benefit for families is mobility. We are growing so much every day in the state, and we are the municipality that is growing the most, so obviously it helps us a lot.”
He emphasized that it would be ideal if the area chosen for this project would generate an economic impact with businesses and services in the region.
He explained that, in terms of security, they are also working in coordination with federal agencies to guarantee peace in the region, and therefore they will provide whatever is necessary for the well-being of the residents of Marques.
“Everything has to be done together; we are supporting the Federal Government in every way possible for the well-being of families and always looking out for the benefit of the residents of Marques.”
