Bikers unleashed! Since the early hours of TODAY, Friday, May 16, 2025, a crowd of motorcyclists has occupied the exit to the Mexico-Cuernavaca highway, causing traffic jams in southern Mexico City. The concentration of motorcyclists, known as bikers, has its final destination in the port of Acapulco, Guerrero.
The bikers gathered on the side of the road, but not all did so. Others parked in the middle of the traffic flow, causing motorists to slow down to see what was happening.
Alternative routes
If you need to travel south of the country or want to avoid the congestion on the Mexico-Cuernavaca highway due to the heavy presence of motorcyclists, here are the following alternatives:
Federal Highway 95 (toll-free): Although it is slower, it can be useful to avoid the heavy traffic on the main highway. Anillo Periférico: Use this road to bypass the most congested areas and access other exits to the south.
Avenida Insurgentes Sur: To travel south of the city and connect with other less congested roads.
