This report clearly shows which states have recorded the most intentional homicides, both in terms of the number of reports and the number of victims.
States with the Most Homicides So Far in 2025
From January to March 2025, these are the states that reported the most intentional homicide reports:
Guanajuato: 794
Baja California: 444
State of Mexico (Edomex): 394
Chihuahua: 387
Sinaloa: 319
What about victims?
When the number of homicide victims is counted, the list remains with slight variations:
Guanajuato: 1,056 victims
Baja California: 494
Edomex: 463
Chihuahua: 455
Sinaloa: 402
March was a particularly violent month
In March 2025, the states with the most reported intentional homicides were:
Guanajuato: 249
Chihuahua: 148
Baja California: 136
Edomex: 133

And those that reported the most victims:

Which have the worst rate per 100,000 inhabitants?
If the number of homicides is adjusted to the population of each state, Colima leads with the highest rate:
Colima: 20.34 victims per 100,000 inhabitants
Guanajuato: 16.15
Morelos: 13.91
Baja California: 11.96
Chihuahua: 11.25
There were 177 more reports of intentional homicides.
There were 218 more victims than the previous month.
The national total so far in 2025 is 5,674 reported homicides and 6,799 victims.
