This project, with an investment of more than 48 million pesos, not only improves connectivity but also boosts the development and security of our neighboring communities and municipalities. San Cristóbal continues to advance, and we know that, with the support of the state and federal governments, prosperity will continue to reach every corner of our municipality, she expressed.
For his part, Engineer Rafael Ruiz Morales, director of the Roads and Hydraulic Infrastructure Commission, emphasized that this project represents more than just road infrastructure:
The reconstruction of this road is not just about asphalt and machinery; it’s about safety, mobility, access to healthcare, and education. It’s about ensuring that students get to school, that agricultural products reach markets, and that families can travel with dignity.
Ruiz Morales emphasized that this highway is the result of joint work between authorities and citizens, reflecting the state government’s commitment to addressing the true needs of the population.
Our commitment as the State Roads Commission is to build, rehabilitate, and modernize roads that connect and strengthen the development and well-being of Chiapas, he concluded.
Representing the 70 benefited communities, Juan Gómez Flores expressed his joy at the highway’s inauguration, emphasizing that, for the first time in many years, they feel taken into account.
Because this project connects our beloved magical city with neighboring municipalities that we also love. We are brothers, united by a strong bond of blood and communication.
Gómez Flores recalled that, before, the insecurity on the old highway generated fear among residents, but today, thanks to the efforts of the new transformation government, the situation has changed.
Now there is security. The sound of the jaguar can be heard throughout Chiapas, he noted, thanking the governor for this project that not only connects, but also brings tranquility and development to the region.
The project connects the capital of San Cristóbal with the communities of Pozo Colorado, Laguna Grande, and the municipalities of San Lucas and Chiapilla, improving the quality of life for residents and strengthening the local economy through safer and more efficient road access.
