The Nayarit State Tourism Secretariat announced that the 2025 Oyster Festival will be held this week in the “beautiful destination” of Aticama, in the municipality of San Blas. Authorities invite residents of the state and other parts of Mexico to spend an unforgettable weekend at this gastronomic fair.
What activities will be included at the 2025 Oyster Festival?
The 2025 Oyster Festival will take place on May 23 and 24 in Aticama, Nayarit. This festival will feature a wide range of free food offerings; all attendees will receive breakfast, dishes using oysters as their main ingredient, and aguachiles.
Attendees will be able to witness the crowning of the festival queen, dance during musical performances, and other activities. This is the schedule for both days.
Friday, May 23
5:00 PM: Festival opening
6:00 PM: Cabin construction review
7:00 PM: Presentation of the folk ballet “Colors of my Aticama People”
8:00 PM: Coronation of the festival queen
9:00 PM: Presentation of the folk ballet “Andares de mi Estado”
10:00 PM: Star performance by Mariachi “El Quevedeño”
Saturday, May 24
7:00 AM: Las mañanitas (Mañanitas) with three bands to the “Ostionero” (Oysterman)
8:00 AM: Presentation of the arrangement and floral offerings to the oyster monument
9:00 AM: 2,000 AM: Free breakfasts for attendees
12:00 PM: 2.5 tons of oysters for all attendees, plus 300 kg of shrimp in aguachile sauce
4:00 PM: Start of the grand dance with Los Amos de la Costa, Grupo Directo, Sonido Crazy, and more bands to be confirmed
In addition to the Oyster Festival, the Ministry of Tourism also launched the “Oyster Route,” which will offer guided tours from the Ex-Convento de la Cruz in Tepic to San Blas. This experience includes transportation, food, workshops, ceremonies, tastings, and tours.
