Juan Carlos “N,” a man identified as the director of the Black Wallstreet Capital company, was arrested in Mexico City. His name appears in an investigation by Mexicans Against Corruption and Impunity (MCCI) dated November 2023.

It was on the morning of May 27 that security forces arrested the man in the nation’s capital. According to information shared by journalist Carlos Jiménez, the recently detained individual is accused of organized crime.

The National Registry of Arrests (RND) indicates that Juan Carlos “N” was arrested shortly before 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, without specifying the borough or neighborhood where the approximately 35-year-old man was arrested.

The investigation conducted by Iván Alamillo and published on the MCCI website identifies the recently detained individual as a businessman who is believed to be a key player in the aforementioned financial company. He was previously arrested during a search conducted in the Anzures neighborhood in mid-March 2023.

“I would like to be very insistent that there is no connection between me and a drug trafficking network,” said Juan Carlos “N” when asked about the investigation into Alamillo, which identifies him as a key player in the shipment of cocaine from Veracruz to Spain.

A total of five people were arrested during the search, although a judge later ordered their immediate release.

In June 2023, the then spokesperson for the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJ-CDMX), Ulises Lara López, accused the company of “possibly irregular multi-million dollar financial transactions, both nationally and internationally, which reflect the possible commission of operations with illicit proceeds, known as money laundering.”

Police officers arrested in the case

On June 5, 2023, the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office reported the arrest of seven police officers (five men and two women) due to their alleged involvement in acts of abuse of power and abuse of authority.

Members of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SCC) allegedly participated in the search. The officers allegedly found five black bags containing cash, two of which they left for forensic experts to report to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The company reported that $3 million and 15,000 pesos were missing, allegedly stolen by the officers.
