The Juan Gabriel Museum in Ciudad Juárez opened its doors in August 2024, transforming the artist’s former home into a cultural icon of the border.

Located in the Partido Romero neighborhood, this venue offers an intimate tour of the life and work of the so-called “Divo de Juárez,” where visitors can discover personal objects, original manuscripts, and scenes that shaped his career.

What can you see at the Juan Gabriel Museum?

The visit is designed as a guided experience, with no cameras inside. The museum offers an environment that allows visitors to appreciate personal objects, manuscripts, restored scenes, and even the urn that houses his ashes. The museum also pays tribute to another beloved figure of this border: Tin Tan.

The tour is conducted in small groups and lasts approximately two hours. During this time, visitors walk through the original rooms of the house, decorated with stage sets, music, and audiovisual materials that tell the artistic and personal story of Juan Gabriel. You can also see his awards, iconic costumes, scores, instruments, and previously unpublished photographs.

One of the most moving spaces is the room that houses the urn containing his ashes, installed on a sober altar where silence is requested. Throughout the museum, his facets as a composer, producer, and philanthropist are also highlighted.

Inside Juan Gabriel’s house, a room for Tin Tan?

Within the museum, there is a room dedicated to Germán Valdés, known as Tin Tan, an emblematic figure of Mexican golden age cinema and also a native of Ciudad Juárez. Personal objects, photographs, memorabilia, and excerpts from his films are displayed there, as part of an initiative to recognize the city’s artistic identity.

Early Monday morning, the sister of Tania Félix “N,” a former PRI alternate deputy candidate linked to the legal process, was murdered.
This space has a special focus on younger generations, with educational materials highlighting the humor, music, and legacy of the country’s most famous pachuco.

The Juan Gabriel Museum, a Boost for Ciudad Juárez
According to reports, since its opening, the Juan Gabriel Museum has attracted more than 20,000 national and international visitors, according to Felipe Rojas, director of the Juan Gabriel Foundation, consolidating its position as one of the city’s new tourism hubs.

According to the information, local businesses, hotels, and guides have reported an increase in business thanks to the arrival of fans and tourists.

For Ciudad Juárez, this museum represents an act of remembrance and also a way to project a different image to the world: that of the talent, creativity, and border pride that Juan Gabriel embodied for decades.
