Auto Parts Theft Video
The robbery occurred on May 28th when individuals arrived and stole the headlights from a high-end car. The alleged thieves arrived in a red car, and two individuals got out. Each thief positioned himself on one side of the vehicle.
It was a rainy night; one of the individuals began pulling the Audi’s fascia, slipped, but got back up. The robbery began again. After damaging the part, his accomplice approached. He took out some kind of screwdriver and broke a clip from the headlight.
After the incident, the individual who slipped approached to finish removing the headlight. After committing the robbery, the individuals left as if nothing had happened. The entire incident lasted a little over a minute.
Apparently, the car didn’t have the alarm set because when they started pulling the bumper, it didn’t make a sound.
This type of theft is frequently seen in SEAT, Volkswagen, and Audi cars. LED headlights are quite expensive at dealerships, so thieves often take advantage of the opportunity to steal. Furthermore, it’s easy to steal parts installed by the manufacturers.
Despite Mexico City authorities taking action to curb auto parts theft, these types of videos are constantly being reported.
