Governor Mauricio Kuri González led the graduation ceremony for 57 new police officers who will join the security forces of seven municipalities and the state.
The first 2025 class includes 31 officers for the State Police and 26 for the municipalities of Corregidora, El Marqués, Huimilpan, Jalpan de Serra, Peñamiller, San Joaquín, and San Juan del Río.
Kuri González emphasized that this is the first class certified nationally in mediation techniques for everyday justice, endorsed by the Technical Committee of the National Council for Standardization and Certification of Labor Competencies (CONOCER).
Pioneering Certification in Everyday Justice
The mediation certification is integrated into the Initial Training Program for Community Police and represents a direct result of the State Civic Justice System.
With this innovation, Querétaro adds 18 technical standards in security and justice recognized in the Official Gazette of the Federation.
The new officers completed 1,230 hours of initial training as the first step in their professionalization process. The governor emphasized that they must complete multiple additional stages to respond to the public’s call to “Defend Querétaro” with exemplary performance.
Commitment to Human Rights and the Rule of Law
During the inauguration, Kuri González established three fundamental responsibilities for the new officers: to act with full respect for human rights, strengthen the rule of law, and maintain unwavering loyalty to the families of Querétaro.
“From now on, your regulatory, technical, and tactical knowledge, as well as your skills and aptitudes, will allow you to serve as personnel authorized to legally use force,” the state governor declared during the ceremony.
Goal of 100 New Police Officers per Year
The Secretary of Citizen Security, Iován Elías Pérez Hernández, confirmed the fulfillment of the government’s goal of delivering at least 100 new police officers to the public per year. The second generation of 57 additional personnel is currently being trained, while a third group will graduate in the second semester.
Pérez Hernández emphasized that the new officers will be the first line of response in emergencies and conflicts, representing a source of confidence for those in need. He emphasized the importance of teamwork and mutual support in difficult times.
Comprehensive Professionalization Strategy
The governor explained that these actions are part of a solid police professionalization strategy that requires the coordinated attention of multiple institutions.
The strategy ensures professional certification in accordance with international standards, incorporates cutting-edge infrastructure and technology, and enables community policing at the service of families.
During the ceremony, the work of CECAFIS in police professionalization and all the Professional Career Service bodies were recognized for their collaboration in the training process.
Officer Aarón Pérez Bautista, representing the graduates, emphasized the commitment to aligning themselves with the highest standards of excellence and assuming the commitments to state security as their own.
