“Initiatives like this, which bring together young musicians from different parts of the continent, remind us of the power of art as a tool for encounter, dialogue, and collaboration. The Orchestra of the Americas not only demonstrates musical excellence; it is a living symbol of what can be achieved when talent is channeled with purpose, when art becomes a bridge between nations,” stated Ricardo Marcos, Technical Secretary of CONARTE, during a meeting with various media outlets.

The Orchestra of the Americas, composed of more than 90 young musicians between the ages of 18 and 35 from 25 countries across the Americas, is recognized for its ability to fuse classical music with the vibrant essence of the Americas.

“It is also important to emphasize that this concert is a reflection of active and collaborative cultural governance, where institutions, organizations, citizens, and the State work together to strengthen Nuevo León’s cultural ecosystem. This synergy allows us to move toward a model in which culture is truly part of the social fabric and not a peripheral element,” emphasized Marcos González, accompanied by Bárbara Herrera de Garza, President of the Board of Trustees of La Superior, and Diana M. Farías Ortegón, Director of La Superior. During this meeting with the media, a video message from Hilda Ochoa-Brillembourg, Founder and President of the Orchestra of the Americas, was also broadcast.

This ensemble not only promotes musical excellence but also intercultural understanding, offering a unique experience that connects the audience with the diversity and cultural richness of the continent.

For this performance, the repertoire will include works by Kris Bowers, “For A Younger Self”; Gabriela Ortiz, “Concierto Voltaje” for timpani and orchestra, and Sergei Rachmaninoff Symphonic Dances; special participation will include soloists Charles Yang (violin) and Gabriela Jiménez (percussion).

“We would like to especially recognize the Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey, an exemplary institution that, with more than four decades of history, has been a breeding ground for artists, a trainer of generations, and a tireless defender of artistic education,” concluded the cultural official.

In the opinion of the president of the Board of Trustees of La Superior, this concert represents an invaluable opportunity to enjoy live music and support young talents who are transforming the international music scene. The Orchestra of the Americas continues to demonstrate the power of music as a means to transcend borders and unite the nations of the Americas.

This event marks the conclusion of a week-long artistic residency organized by OAcademy and the Board of Trustees of the Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey (ESMDM).
