The rains recorded this Monday afternoon in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, caused damage in 40 locations throughout the city. 30 of these were due to fallen trees, seven vehicles were stranded in hazardous areas, three corrugated iron roofs were detached from homes, and five homes were flooded. No injuries were reported.
The areas where the water swept away vehicles were on 24 de Junio Street, located in the northeastern part of Tuxtla Gutiérrez. There, the Totoposte stream overflowed, impeding traffic and preventing traffic at the intersection of the North Bypass and Fidel Velázquez Boulevard.
Other damage caused by the rains occurred on the southern ring road (Poniente). The street flooded after some streams in the Penipak neighborhood rose, allowing only large vehicles to circulate.
Trees fell on the northern bypass and sheets of roofing were blown away by strong winds in the capital.
In Puebla, a community is under water
In the community of Ajolotla in the municipality of Chignahuapan, Puebla, a downpour was recorded, causing flooding.
Civil Protection personnel traveled to the area with municipal authorities to assist the population, assess the damage, and provide the necessary supplies to the public.
Supplies are also being prepared for the operation of shelters.
In Hidalgo, the streets turned into rivers
Intense rains turned the streets of Pachuca, Hidalgo, into rivers, and flooding is also reported in various parts of the capital.
A vehicle in the La Españita neighborhood was swept away by the current after heavy rains this Monday.
At this time, Pachuca Civil Protection has not reported any injuries.
Morelos suffers flooding
The Morelos State Civil Protection Coordination (CEPCM) reported that as a result of the rains recorded in recent hours, various damages have occurred in Cuernavaca and other municipalities in the state.
The rains left streets and homes flooded, vehicles trapped, and trees downed in various neighborhoods.
