Construction of the Tepic-Compostela Highway is 87 percent complete, according to the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT), confirming that work is on schedule.
This project will benefit more than 800,000 users, reducing travel time between the city of Tepic, Nayarit, and Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, from 3.5 hours to one hour and 25 minutes.
It will be a high-specification highway with two lanes in each direction, side shoulders, a 12-meter wide crown, and a Tepic International Airport branch line.
In addition, it will connect the beaches of Compostela and Bahía de Banderas with downtown Nayarit, and will link the airports of Tepic and Puerto Vallarta in just one hour and 15 minutes.
As part of this project, 26 kilometers of road length, 2.4 kilometers of airport branch, a toll plaza, 10 bridges, two railroad crossings, 19 intersections, and one interchange (only loops) are being built; so far, 2,900 jobs have been created during its execution.
